focused and relatively powerful finish that offers impressive persistence

anise and the sauvage adding breadth to the ripe dark currant scents

but the tannin is integrated and silky

an aroma of pen ink

well-integrated alcohol and tannin

The nose offers up cassis

A much more floral-inflected nose is equally fresh and ripe with a broader range of spice elements adding breadth to the pretty red and blue pinot fruit aromas that are trimmed in noticeable if not invasive wood

moving toward blacker berries

An intensely spicy and floral red berry and cassis-suffused nose merges seamlessly into impressively rich and full-bodied middle weight flavors that possess just a hint of minerality on the hugely long and palate staining finish
