Twin Palms EstateThe Twin Palms Estate is best known as Frank Sinatras Palm Springs getaway, and after posting this rendition online, I decided to take a shot in the dark and put it out into the world that Id love to visit the house. The very first comment I got was from someone who happened to have a contact there. They connected me with the company that manages events at the estate and arranged a private tour for the next time I was in Palm Springs. Walking through

I  really wanted to capture the warmth and sense of home that Charles and Ray Eames created

It was so surreal to be surrounded by rows of empty seats steeped in so much talent and history

This is an Alexander Home

a rare reminder of McDonald’s early days

and I hope they managed to see this little tribute to their home

as well as the last thing you glimpse before you leave

and while it’s tiny

but I love that it’s one of the few places left in LA that still holds onto such traditions

It makes me wonder how many other failed projects of mine would have had similar results if given a second chance

but didn’t get the chance to draw it until a few years later

He even requested custom pieces for himself
